He pursued his Masters in Sports & Exercise Injury degree from Leeds Metropolitan University in England in 2007. He trained in England under some quality physiotherapists like Mr. Ian Blackburn (Head Physio, Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Team), Mr. David Hancock (Head Physio, Leeds United Football Club) and Mr. Jamie (Head Physio, Leeds Rhinos Rugby Team). He was the team Physio for Moortown Rugby Union Football Club (2006-07, 2007-08) which was promoted from the Yorkshire III division to II division in 2007. During his post-graduation studies, he worked on various projects like " Stretching - Does it Prevent or Predispose a Muscle Injury," "Sideline and On-field Assessment of an Injured Athelte and Emergency First Aid."
Viplav graduated in Physiotherapy (BPT) in 2004 from Kasturba Medical College (K M C), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (currently Manipal University) in Mangalore, Karnataka. For the first time in the history of BPT He was awarded the prestigious Dr. T M A Pai Gold Medal for the best outgoing graduate from the university for the year 2004. He was also the best outgoing student from the college for the year 2004 for which he was awarded the Dr. T M A Pai Gold medal. In recognition to his outstanding performance in the bachelors degree, for the first time again in the history of K M C, he was awarded the Jeena Memorial Gold Medal. He was also awarded the Dr. K R Ballal Memorial Scholarship for his outstanding performance in the first year bachelors degree.
Being a sportsperson himself, Viplav participated in many sporting events and represented his college and university at various levels of competition. He is one of the greatest fan of MANCHESTER UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB, so don't be surprised if you are listening to "Glory Glory Man Utd... Glory Glory Man Utd..." in the background. |
