History
The cricket was introduced to India by European merchant sailors in the 18th-century and the first cricket club in India was established in Calcutta in 1792, India's national cricket team didn't play their first Test match until 25 June 1932 at Lord's.[7] They became the sixth team to be granted Test cricket status.[8] In their first fifty years of international cricket, India proved weaker than Australia and England, winning only 35 of the 196 test matches.[9] The team, however, gained strength near the end of the 1970s with the emergence of players such as Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and the Indian spin quartet. Traditionally much stronger at home than abroad, the Indian team has continued to be highly ranked since then in all forms of cricket. It won the Cricket World Cup in 1983 and was runners-up in 2003. It also won the inaugural World Twenty20 in 2007. The current team contains many of the world's leading players, including Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, who hold numerous cricketing world records.
The Indian cricket team is currently ranked third by the ICC in both Tests and ODIs.[2] As of October 21, 2008, the Indian team has played 423 Test matches, winning 22.69%, losing 32.15% and drawing 44.91% of its games, with also 1 tied match (0.24%).[3] India has a relatively better record in One Day Internationals, winning over 50% of matches played. Currently, Mahendra Singh Dhoni serves as the captain of the Indian cricket team in all forms of the game.[4] Under his leadership, the Indian team has set a country record for most back-to-back ODI wins (9 straight wins)[5] and has emerged as one of the most formidable teams in international cricket.

Cricket is a game of two teams between eleven players. It is played with the bat and ball as well as it is divided into six overs. Cricket game is established with the team sport. It is the most popular sport in the world.
In the cricket, there are three types of bawlers like fast bawlers, spin bawlers and medium pace bawler. The ball has bounces only one time before reaching the batsman. In the sport of cricket, the bawling is like a action of propelling the ball towards the wicket defended by a batsman. It is played on the grass field and roughly in the oval shape.
All batsman plays the ball with the wooden type of cricket bat and the remaining members of the bawler's team stand with the different positions. In this game if the batsman not out, then they run between the wickets and exchanging ends with the second batsman.
Two-on fields umpires preside over a match. One empire stands on the behind of the bawler's wicket and the other one stands with a side view of the batsman.
The cricket field consists of the large oval shaped with the grassy ground. Its diameter is usually between 450 feet to 500 feet. The parameter of the field is known as boundary and the boundary is marked with the painted line or with a rope.
The main purpose of the bawler's team is to get the each batsman out and the purpose of the batting team is to score as many runs.
Cricket is a game played between two teams, generally of 11 members each. In essence, it is single combat, in which an individual batsman does battle against an individual bowler, who has helpers known as fielders. The bowler propels the ball with a straight arm from one end of the 22-yard pitch in an attempt to dismiss the batsman by hitting a target known as the wicket at the other end, or by causing the batsman to hit the ball into the air into a fielder's grasp, or by inducing one of a number of other indiscretions. The batsman attempts to defend the wicket with the bat and to score runs the currency of the game by striking the ball to the field boundary, or far enough from the fielders to allow the batsman to run to the other end of the pitch before the ball can be returned. At least two bowlers must take turns, from alternating ends; also, there are always two batsmen on the field, each to take a turn as required. When all but one of the batting team have been dismissed ? or after an agreed period ? the teams? roles are reversed. After all the players required to bat on both sides have done so either once or twice (which can take from a few hours to five days) the total number of runs accumulated determines the winner. But sometimes there isn't one.
